What we do

Our services

Osteopathy

Osteopathy focuses on a holistic approach to health and movement by focusing on the neuro-musculoskeletal system – the bones, muscles, nerves and other tissues that support your body and control its movements.

Our role is to know how parts of your body should work together and the impact it has if they don’t.

We use a range of tools to identify what might be happening in the body and provide hands-on techniques to give you relief from musculoskeletal pain and discomfort.

We also provide education around movement strategies you can use at home to help you return to the activities you enjoy.

This type of ‘active recovery’ is essential to a fast and simple return to a pain-free life.

Alongside assessment and diagnosis, treatment may also include movement, massage, stretching, joint manipulation, postural and positioning advice, and ergonomic assessments to help you regain healthy body movement.

Exercise rehabilitation

Exercise rehabilitation is an essential factor in recovering from pain and injury.

Exercise rehabilitation is when a particular set of exercises is developed to aid in your ongoing recovery.

This exercise program will be developed during your consultation. Your osteopath will then show you how to perform each exercise, which are to be continued on a regular basis at home between consultations.

Vertigo and dizziness

Assessing the cause of vertigo is the first step in treating this debilitating condition.

We work with you to assess the type and cause of your vertigo symptoms, and work in consultation with your GP and other health practitioners to holistically treat the vertigo.

This may involve a range of hands-on treatments as well as at-home exercises and recommendations on lifestyle and sleeping changes.

When booking a consultation for vertigo, please state this in your booking notes.

Occupational health

Occupational health is a key area of consideration when considering healthy form and function for every person.

Proper functional movement in everyday life is key to reducing the chance of pain and injury.

We work with you to teach you the best ways to move to safeguard against injury.

This also includes areas such as workstation ergonomics. How you sit and stand at your workstation each day can have a huge impact on healthy body function.

Learning appropriate ways to work effectively can have a huge impact on your overall wellbeing and reduce the chance of injury.

When booking a consultation for occupational health, please state this in your booking notes.

Dry needling

Dry needling is a treatment technique whereby a sterile, single-use, fine filament needle (acupuncture needle) is inserted into the muscle to assist with decreasing pain and improving function through the release of myofascial trigger points (knots in the muscle).

This is typically applied together with other treatment techniques.

Dry needling is believed to inhibit the transmission of pain signals in the spine and increase the release of pain-relieving chemicals within our brain.

Dry needling is used to treat a range of musculoskeletal conditions and can achieve pain relief, reduce muscle tightness and improved muscle activation.

Headache management

Restoring movement to the neck and upper back can significantly reduce nerve irritation leading to headaches.

Manipulation to increase mobility through these areas reduces tension, thereby helping to alleviate headaches.

We can also advise on posture, stretching and strengthening exercises to help manage headache symptoms on an ongoing basis.
